Are your windows ready for winter?
That autumn chill is just creeping into the mornings and evenings, which is a sign that you need to think about your property and whether your windows are ready for the winter.
If you don’t have double glazing, now’s the time to check your timber or aluminium windows and eliminate any draughts.
- For timber windows –your putty acts as a weather seal so check it for cracks and chips which, if left unrepaired, can allow water to seep into the wooden frames and potentially cause rot over a long period. For more information click here.
- For aluminium windows – the rubber seals which hold your glass in place may harden and shrink over time in the sun, leaving gaps in the corners for cold air or water to sneak in. For more information click here.
